I'm really mad at the makers of Defiance because I now have to think of a new title for my autobiography and subsequent film series... lame!

Wow. I totally went and saw Slumdog at the Hood, so I waited a long time to see it, mostly because I thought it was going to be lame. And I loved it.
Saw UP this weekend and LOVED it. I adore Pixar. They have a wonderful writing staff who craft good, family, FUNNY movies that aren't crass. What's a relief these days.

Ohh. FYI - My cousins both just recommended the movie "Kenny" to me. Sounds interesting.

I think we now have two things in common. Though I cant remember what the first thing was. ;D I know, I can't either. I remembered and it relates to another movie. Apparently we have similar tastes in movies. It was that we both thought Marley & Me was the saddest movie ever. Yes, Rose, sadder than Schindler's List.

Movies I've seen recently after becoming bored with television's offerings while on semi bedrest "The Reader" Really good movie, challenging to watch at times with frustratingly human characters. (fair amount of nudity and sex for those of you who are challenged by such things) "Australia" Can I have that 3 hours of my life back please? "Taken" I actually really enjoyed this movie, probably because my expectations were low! "Bride Wars" pretty much what you thought it would be, reasonably entertaining, very predictable "Tropic Thunder" I give up, I just don't like american style comedy very much.

OK, so am I going to completely discredit myself in everyone's eyes if I say Rose and I watched Twilight last night and I actually liked it?

Josh, I don't think so. The truth (for me, and I think a lot of others) is that I don't want to jump on any cult classic bandwagon solely because it's popular. I have no interest in reading the 4 books, but I might be interested in trying out the first movie. I'm not really a vampire fan, though...

Yeah, I don't think I'll be reading the books.
But I thought the movie was well done, which is interesting because I've talked to others who thought it sucked (unintentional pun).
I thought it was well filmed, the music was good, I loved how it was set in the Northwest- I mean you've got Multnomah falls, the Gorge, Forks, Wa, La Push Beach (which is a favorite backpacking destination starting point for me). Some people didn't like the dialogue, but I thought it was fitting for a "high school" cast. Plus, ever since Into the Wild, I've thought Kristen Stewart was a promising actress.
I thought the storyline has an interesting take on self-sacrifice and restraint-- abstinence even.
Oh, and I'm kinda in to vampire stories ever since I read Stoker's Dracula. There's a whole thread on the Christian implications of Dracula in the Literature sub-forum.

My feelings on twilight it was a great movie, I though read the books first and by the time I saw the movie I was about ready to finish the 2nd book!
I pictured things to be WAY different than they were I guess it was kind of dissapointing to me I almost wish I would of watched the movie first before reading the books. The Northwest shots were great, and the music was oh so good.
I just wish maybe it would of had a little more money put into it to make it better. I am howerver looking forward to seeing the second one that comes out in November But I do think you should read the books there is just much more in them than in the movie.
I am ready to start the final book now and cant wait to see the outcome!!!

Ok, I don't care what the critics say. If you liked Transformers as a kid, go see the second Transformers movie. I saw it last night and liked it a lot. It's so bad azz watching all the cars and stuff transforming. I drove home last night keeping my eye out to make sure none of the cars on the side of the road suddenly became robots.
Josh, since you discredited yourself by saying you liked the Twilight movie, I am going to say that I think I need to watch the Harry Potter movies. I saw the preview for the new one and it looks really good. Lot's of good action!

Movies I've seen recently:
Funny People (don't waste your time... it wasn't very funny - rather inappropriate with a lack of real humor - and it was very long, like 2 hrs 35 mins which is an eternity at 10:30pm and/or for a slow-moving comedy)
The Secret Life of Bees (very good story, not for a younger audience)

The latest movie I enjoyed was 'Away we go'. It was about a pregnant couple trying to figure out what direction they wanted for their new family.
Things I enjoyed: 1. The focus on that aspect of a couple's life, past the 'infatuation' stage and starting into the beginnings of devoted love. 2. It's sincerity 3. Ever so slightly inflated look at different flavors of families
Things I regretted: 1. There were some shock value scenes 2. The couple's choice on marriage

Yes, Meghan it is.
I tend to agree with what Aimee said about it. The regrets are unfortunately pretty central to the film.

Rose and I finally watched the first Transformers tonight. I'd give it a 3/5. For the genre, pretty good.
