This is unbelievable! ;D My brother was a huge Star Wars fan but I don't remember him mentioning this. He is getting an email from me today!

If I had known it existed, I might not have been so surprised at how bad the last Indiana Jones turned out.

I got an email back from my brother and he told me that he and I watched it live. I don't remember it. Here's what else he had to say: "But yes, it is beautifully horrible! George Lucas is on record saying he wishes he could buy up every copy out there and burn them. Also, this was right after Mark Hamill had his car accident and had half his face reconstructed. That's why he's wearing 100 lbs of makeup. Watch on an empty stomach!"

I am so happy that I could have brought up this subject! I watched this celluloid piece of garbage as a 5 yr old (very exciting stuff for a 5 year old) on an 8" black and white tv.
By the way my Aunt dragged me out because it was past my bedtime. (sorry in being so slow on my response to that question).

The Holiday special goes a long way into explaining a great many things: Gunguns, Ewoks, Anakin and Padme's dialogue, Howard the Duck, burping muppets in Return of the Jedi, Farting creachers in Phantom Menace, Tarzan references in Jedi and Crystal Skull, Prairie Dogs, etc. Lucas stated once that he made these movies for kids (then why do several of these films have a PG-13 rating?)

I remember watching a space launch-- it wasn't the walk on the moon, but just after that. My grandmother asked me if I knew who Neil Armstong or Buzz Aldrin was and I didn't-- I was in second grade-- and she tsked me, saying that these are the heroes of our time. That must have been 72 or 73 (yes, I know I'm old, my kids remind me of that every day)
Well, I know them now. Is that good enough, grandma?
