Would this be a bad time for me to remind us it's just a TV show?? --Uh, okay, I'll just keep my mouth shut...

Well, it's a heck of a lot better than the Gospel of Judas!

Well, we did about a week ago.
That was the one were all the threads of season 1 came together super dramatically, right?
We're on episode 11 of season 2 now!!!!
The "23rd Psalm" episode was pretty powerful.

WARNING: SPOILERS
We're getting into Season 3 now.
Ben... what can I say?
Oh, and, Brian, you did an excellent job not giving me any indication of what was coming when I said I could do with Ana Lucia being killed off. The first episode we watched when we got back, she died!!!!

The first episode we watched when we got back, she died!!!! I remember telling me that and thinking, I think she dies in the next couple of episodes. But I can't say anything. You are so close to season 5...I can't wait til you get there.

Yeah, that's right. You both had great poker faces!
So, last night we watched the episode where John Locke loses his voice. Anyone pick up on the parallel with Zachariah (John the Baptist's dad), who also lost his voice due to lack of faith?

Well, considering that I watched that about 2 1/2 years ago, I've pretty much forgotten all parallels I drew at any point.
I am SOOOOO excited for you to get to Season 5, especially the finale. I want to re-watch it with you guys because there are lots of good parallels to discuss.

Mo, I'm so happy to hear that you are also a Lostie. You just went up a few more notches in my book! thanks. So are you in for a fair bit of speculation about what is going to happen in season 6?? The speculation is the best part of it ;D Episode 3 Season 4 Trying to figure out just what's up with that Oceanic plane on the bottom of the sea floor. Oh, and we just met Charlotte Staples Lewis!!!! (Mo, you know she's named after CS Lewis, right?) I read that in this very thread a couple of days ago. What do you say if I honestly tell you that I found her to be a rather dispensable character from the word go?

I know, I know. I'm pretty disappointed with her so far. Not really seeing any parallels with her.

I know, I know. I'm pretty disappointed with her so far. Not really seeing any parallels with her. Josh, haven't you noticed this with a lot of characters/things sprinkled throughout Lost? They like to drop in things that make you think it means something, but it really doesn't.

Wow. Season 5 is great.
Just watched the episode "316". Obviously the parallels between John Locke and Jesus are striking: his sacrificial death at the hands of a Judas, his appearances to his friends.
Oh and I loved Ben's little speech to Jack about Thomas and faith.
Let me see if I can find it online somewhere....

Here's the scene:
Jack comes out of Eloise Hawking's office and finds Ben in the sanctuary and he appears to be praying. Ben goes to light a candle and asks Jack what Ms. Hawking told him. Jack replies "Nothing that matters" and then asks Ben about who Eloise Hawking is and how she knows so much about the them and the island.
Ben's looks up at the painting "The Incredulity of Saint Thomas" by Michelangelo da Caravaggio and starts telling the story of Thomas. He tells jack that when Jesus wanted to go back to Judea knowing he would most likely be murdered, Thomas told the other apostles that they should go with Jesus so that they can die with him. He continues saying "But Thomas was not remembered for this bravery." He then tells the story of "Doubting Thomas" who refused to acknowledge the resurrection of Jesus. Ben chooses an intersting way to describe this saying "He just couldn't wrap his mind around it." Thomas need to touch Jesus' wounds to be convinced. When Jack asks "So was he?," be replies "Of course he was. We're all convinced sooner or later Jack."
Rose and I both thought of Robin simultaneously at that last line ;D
