Good idea... my original theory was that he would fix Locke, make him walk.
I thought this because right now, Locke is the 'enemy' as Ben was early on. Jack operated on and saved Ben early on, remember? Also, I think one of the things that is going on the in the parallel life is that everyone is living out their same destiny's, but in a different way. If that is true, Locke should be healed, he should be able to walk after the surgery.
But... I kind of like your theory better!

Honestly, Lost is losing me. I almost can't wait for it to be over. If I wasn't 5 1/2 seasons invested....
But your prediction has some merit Josh. I could see that happening.

Ben, I think that if Jack saves John's life it will involve him walking again.

True, true.
So, where to start?
Well, the Kwan child as candidate theory just gained some more credibility.
Oh, and not to mention, there's no longer any dobut about smokie's dark side. The illusions have been stripped!
Sayid finally finds his redemption- wonder what will happen in his flash sideways?
John refuses to trust Jack in the flash-sideways, paralelling, of course, Jack's refusal to trust John in earlier seasons.
What else do you guys have?

Things are moving pretty damn fast now. Almost too fast. Sayids quick end didn't do his role in the series justice in my opinion. That the lovers were among the first to go is pretty brutal too.
It's time to see what Richard and Ben are up to.
And I can't help noticing that the parallel reality seems to be the better place.

As far as the character deaths...can we be sure that they are dead? After all, Sayid already died once, and we didn't actually see Sun and Jin die (although Smokie Locke did say "not all of them" died, alluding that some did.)
Did you here they added a half hour to the finale? Awesome.

I'm pretty chapped about them killing off Jin and Sun Just reckless hate on the part of the producers. They should be jailed. They have a child after all...a miracle baby...one that Jin never even met. Did we ever find out what finally happened to Sun and the baby in the alternate reality? I can't remember. I think Mo is on to something with the alternate world. I wonder if it will end up being the real reality and the Island is the alternate deja-vu reality or something.

Reckless hate? How so? The 4 remaining are "Jacob's list". I don't think anyone else ever stood a chance. Actually, if anything I think it's bad that they had Sayid be the one to run away with a bomb. Chris, we found out they were both ok after Sun was shot. No more details than that.

Actually... you did catch Jin in the hallway in the hospital with the flowers in his hand, didn't you? So it can be assumed that she has had the baby in the other world, and that Jin was there. I've long thought that one of the themes of this show is that fate is fate and it will play itself out in one way or another. I see this happening in the alternate world. ...maybe the island is the alternate world.

I still don't know if I see it. I mean, other than the name Jacob, and twin brothers, what else you got?

I'll tell you what you DON'T GOT, my friends, you DON'T GOT THE NAME OF JACOB'S BROTHER! Am I the only one agonizing over this? Jeez, how can they get though so many episodes without spitting it out? BTW, I also agree with Mo that Sayid's demise was a real throwaway--he definitely deserved more than that. And what's with the twins' mom saying "thank you" to Nameless Son when he did her in? Was it a thank you for being killed? (I noticed she had Richard's anti-aging serum.) I gotta be honest, kids, I'm starting to have my doubts about them pulling all this together by the finale...

I just realized---maybe Smokie Twin's real name is John Locke.

Well, we know for sure that smokie isn't human, never was, isn't some bad guy turned evil -- smokie is evil.
I don't know details, but last night's episode sure felt like ancient mythology to me. Like the hundreds of old myths of the twin brothers sky and sea, or sun and moon. The story of how evil came into the world, or how man was created, etc...
The question is this: How will last night's episode play into the fates of the survivors? Or was it merely a way to settle some questions about who Locke/Smokie is, nothing more? Was there anything in that episode that could be carried over to what is actually going on now?

About time someone acknowledges this. ;D Exactly. Twin boys stolen at birth by a sort of witch, who later kills one of the boys and favors the other, giving him near immortality. Did you notice the emphasis "mother" put on women? "I came from my mother" and "Men are evil". Maybe Jacob will have a soft spot for Kate? Jacob, in essence, failed to protect properly, is a woman more effective? I think so. They need to wrap some things up before tackling the fates of the survivors in the Series Finale.
