You're killing me.
Not that I don't appreciate the Stones to some degree, but.....
What do you hate about Paul?

The only Beatles tunes I find vaguely interesting are not written by Paul. And I hate his post-Beatles work. John Lennon rules.
I feel like the Beatles killed rock and roll. They (or their handlers) made it a pop sensation by taking it out of the juke joints and to the mainstream. They are the reason it became corporatized.
Then disco came along and put the nail in the coffin.

Great list, Josh. I would add Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Norwegian Wood, and Yesterday. There are so many that I love, it really is hard to pick a list of favorites.

Sure, they affected rock and roll for both good or ill, but they were innovative* (not derivative) and contributed more to music than they took away imo. * and isn't that what we really want from musicians anyway rather than blind adherence to a genre?

I'll admit that they did some interesting things, and I respect them to a degree. But Paint It Black, which isn't even the Stones best song, is a far superior track to any of The Beatles.
Band On The Run? I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.
I'm all for innovation, and thanks to John, George, and Ringo they achieved some of that. Beatlemania is just irritating to me. The moment you throw crying, screaming, out of control girls in the front row, you cease to "rock" and just become annoying. For every Beatles hit, I'd guess there are 5 songs played by passionate garage rockers that is better music.

Wait....You'll sing Helter Skelter as a worship song, but it doesn't even make your top 10 list

Josh--I agree with a lot of your picks. There is something so unbelievably blissful about the guitar intro on Here Comes The Sun--it goes beyond words for me. The pure simplicity of a lot of the earlier tunes always gets to me. I am curious what you thought about Across the Universe? My kids loved it, but most people their age were bored to tears. In My Life--just possibly the best song in the world. I would also add Blackbird to your list. The Beatles are about a lot more than just the music. Hard to explain --you either get it or you don't.

Robin: Yeah, I'd add Sgt. Pepper's (oh and A Little Help from My Friends) Chris: Rocky Raccoon should be on my list. I debated Helter Skelter, but yeah you're right it should be on there too- except I think I like U2's version better. Kirbstomp: And I don't care how much you throw up, Band on the Run rocks!!!! Margot: I don't know Across the Universe .What album is that on? Oh, and congrats on reaching Threadmaster status!!

Hating the Beatles transcends one nationstate. It is a hate crime against the entire English speaking world!

I cannot write a longer rebuke appropriate for your disgusting contempt for modern culture without using words that some on this forum would find offensive. I therefore refuse to do it.

I do not fear for my salvation, it is entrusted in Christ and nothing I can say will ever destroy it. Instead I fear justifiable contempt for using foul language on a website dedicated to freely and politely discussing religion and Christendom. You on the other hand should fear for your mortal soul. Only a sick, twisted, and evil soul could not hear the beauty of many of the Beatles songs, each of which is a cultural artifact in binary on my computer. May God have mercy on your soul!
