Well, I'm glad you guys got that all worked out. I was afraid I was going to have to bust out some pastoral counseling.

Back to the songs....Josh, I was talking about Across The Universe the movie. It's 3 -4 years old, I think. Have you seen it? If you haven't, now I'm REALLY interested in having you watch and give your opinion! It's basically a "musical" made up of Beatles tunes strung together with a made up story. Now, given that poor discription I just gave you, I would be totally prepared to hate it---and believe me, I was!!!! However, when I actually saw it, it totally won me over!! The male and female leads , as well as the supporting singers are really wonderful. The story is weak, but it is clearly make-believe, so I could definitely suspend my judgement there. The presentation of the songs is different, (one includes your buddy Bono!!) but I think is stands nicely as a tribute all by itself. It is NOT The Beatles, it is kind of a reminescence of them. It wasn't a real popular movie, I suspect because people younger than us didn't get the sentimental connection and got bogged down in the weak story. If you take it for the songs and the strong vocals, I think it's really good. Interestingly enough, my kids fell in love with it---along with several of their friends--and ran right out to get the movie and soundtrack. They and their friends are pretty musical and have a solid foundation in "the classics" so maybe that was the key I'm really interested in your opinion, (and the opinion of others who may have seen it.) --Signed proudly by your friend a Brand-New Threadmaster! "does anybodt here her" has a very speacial place in my heart because it is a song that spoke to me and brought me comfort during my mothers death.

I will jump into the fray here. I think that virtually every band has been influenced to some degree by the Beatles (whether you like them or not). I have always loved "Day in the Life". This song goes all over the place and seems to exemplify what I think of as a Beatles tune. Side two of Abby Road is a collage of tunes that were too short to be stand alone tracks - classic!!
