My favorite passage is 1 Peter 2:5. I don't know if it's because it is so easy to envision or what, but I really like the concept that we are all in need of Jesus, first and foremost, but that we are also in need of each other. We cannot build a church without Jesus being the first stone that is laid and the guiding stone for all other stones. And we cannot have a church with only one other stone (ourselves). It takes us all to build a glorious temple for Jesus.
As scary a thought as it might be, there is something empowering and freeing about being called God's holy priest(ess). We are called to something higher than non-believers. Not that we are somehow ranked above non-believers, but we are asked to live to God's high standard of living.

Great passage Michelle! I agree with you. I love the analogy of God building His house with imperfect rocks like us. What a picture! I like Jesus' version of the analogy in John 14:2-3 also. The other passage I like in this chapter is: 1 Peter 2:17 17 Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king. NKJVI love how Peter sums it all up in so few words to.... 1. Value and treat all people with respect. 2. Have special love for the brethren (and sistren too ) 3. Revere God as the Holy God He is. 4. And in all of that, demonstrating that we are truly submitted to our one true King....Jesus.

I heart Peter. I love how point blank he is. I know I've said it many times, but he is my favorite.
