When I read it, I almost feel like Peter is trying to wipe away what Judas did with a kiss and to make it about brotherly love instead of betrayal.
	Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. ~Eph. 5:1-2

I'll never read that verse the same again. I love the historical reading-between-the-lines thing.
