Deuteronomy 18:15 (V,R,C)
15 The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him.
Spoken by Moses, it is a bit unclear whether this refers to one specific future prophet, or a continual lineage of prophets. However, rabbinic sources in the 14th Century do take this as prophetic of a Messianic figure, and the Bible itself gives evidence to a belief that this passage refers to the Messiah prior to the time of Jesus (see John 1:21)
