I'm still plowing away through the fourth volume of N.T. Wright's magnum opus and I just have to say that I feel like I'm imbibing a whole new fresh kind of apologetic argument for Christianity, or perhaps just a major synthesis or upgrade on some classic ones.
Not sure how to explain it, but basically, the life of Paul, is in and of itself one of the most powerful arguments for the gospel. Yes, many have pointed out before how the early conversion of someone so hostile to Christianity is in and of itself a powerful evidence. But that's only the tip of the iceberg when you examine Paul through Wright's multi-faceted approach. It's not just Paul's conversion- it's his thinking and his cogent encapsulation of the Jewish story and its fulfillment in Christ. It's so breathtakingly perfect it feels to me miraculous, beyond the power of human wisdom.
