Strange story about the two prophets in 1 Kings 13, but somehow it resonates with me. The question came up today as to whether the old prophet was purposefully lying or was himself deceived by a lying spirit. I'm not sure it matters, but I probably lean toward the second theory.
Any lingering thoughts on the passage?
Thanks for the teaching, Robin!

I agree with you Josh. Although it can be looked at either way, verse 13:11 says that he was a Prophet.
11Now an old prophet was living in Bethel; and his sons came and told him all the deeds which the man of God had done that day in Bethel; the words which he had spoken to the king, these also they related to their father.
