Just finished "Destiny of the Republic" by Candace Millard, a historical account of the life and assassination of President James Garfield in 1881. It tells the parallel stories of his assassin, Charles Giteau and Alexander Graham Bell, who tried to save the president's life.
Highly recommended. Especially if you want to learn about a President who you can actually admire.
