Not sure if this belongs in this topic area...
Can God hate? If God is love, how can he have hate? It is easy to say God HATES the actions of Hitler.... or is it? And if he doesn't hate the actions of Hitler and his Nazis, why not?!
Is Got the opposite of hate? Is hate and sin then an evolution derived from the "deep magic", a natural byproduct, but not actually a creation of the laws created by God?
Actually, I'm pretty comfortable with my own settled view on this, but I want to know what others think, specifically because I see this as a possible future topic that a non-Christian friend of mine may end up discussing with me.

I was reminded of this thread when I read Jeremiah 12:8 today:
My inheritance [Israel] has become to me like a lion in the forest. She roars at me; therefore I hate her.
Here we have a statement that God hates his chosen people, but elsewhere, in the same book, we are told:
Jeremiah 33:11 “Give thanks to the LORD Almighty, for the LORD is good; his love endures forever.” For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before,’ says the LORD.
God's love and hate are not mutually exclusive. Love is His basic nature, His hate, unlike our hate, is but a fierce aspect of his love.
