Elsewhere, yeshuafreak asked Chris and I:
so why did you stop following dispensationalsim?
anyone cov't theologians?
I thought this could make a good separate discussion when we have a chance.

so yeah- who believs in cov't theology and dispensationalism? anyone who does please answer. i have a Dake bible- he is dispensationalist, with a pinch of cov't theology in it. i have also read the writtings of david stern who has combined what he calls 'he truths of the two' to make his own theology. he also came up with 'olive tree theolgoy.'
i personally have had to name my theology something totally seperate because it is so unique in a way. firstly because most NT adherants dont think that the law should be followed in th eway i do. ot even alot of mj synagogues. secondly, because i have combined theologies of MANY different people. i have yet to name it. howver, some candidates for names is 'yaakovite theology' or yochanine theology''... both of which i dont want to use because they are biblical names and a person might mistake them for the apostle. help me out here to. lol
i dont think dispensationalism is correct because its basic idea is that YHVH Dispenses of the last age and comes up with a new one. i also divide the worlds period into ages but recognize that that is all pure human division. it is me reducing it to a system that i can understand. YHVH does not literally change his mind and comes up with a new age, rather it is one HUGE age and one HUGE covt that is progressively being revealed. but YHVH never dispenses of a previous age. your system (remember it is a system that is not to be credited as being made by YHVH, but a system that you with oyur human mind made in order to understand the will of YHVH) should include that fact that each age is a product of the precious ages' revelations as well as another one.
anyway- i have to do something else so i will finish talking later.

I never "followed" dispensationalism, I've always followed Jesus. Dispensationalism was merely my default view on eschatology as a baby Christian because of the church I attended. I abandoned the view because it was extremely weak in my opinion (I thought this even before I ever heard the alternatives). When I heard more convincing alternatives, I was relieved and changed my view.
We can get into more details if you wish, but it's really that simple.

I think I've just been insulted, but just "like the Pharisees", I'm a little dull of understanding. YF wrote: You might be surprised how many people actually follow Dispensationalism rather than Jesus. And actually, I need to retract my statement because I now recall occasionally writing to congressmen, senators, and even the president about blank check support of Israel in their conflicts with Palestinians when I was dispy, simply because my dispy teachers told me to.
