I think it will be the Facebook that Facebook should have been. Its like fb meets twitter meets skype meets....google. Segregation of friends, security by default, seamless integration with my other google apps, etc (and so far no info phishing games) make it superior and cooler than fb IMO. But I say that with some degree of cautious optimism. Afterall, google is in the business of knowing all they can about you and monetizing that somehow.

I also think Google+ will have more collaboration tools for productivity as well as entertainment. Maybe a more grown-up social networking site?

Think about this also. While Twitter is struggling to figure out how to monetize their service, and Facebook is stuck with needing all of these funky ads and games that are just annoying, Google is under no pressure to make any money off of Google + since they are already a lucrative business in other respects. Therefore, they can keep G+ purer and make it very attractive for users and figure out other ways to integrate it into their core business. It's brilliant, but also kinda scary.

If Google buys Hulu, as it is rumored it might (also Apple is rumored to buy Hulu) then Google would hold a near monopoly on internet video: both user created with You Tube, and copyrighted material with Hulu. Mix that with the ability to "meet up" with friends to view and discuss the video on Google+. Powerful indeed. (I just wrote a case study on Google and YouTube...)

Google plus is like twitter in that you put people in circles, which is the same as following them. They can put you in their circles, which is following you, but there doesn't have to be a mutual agreement. Also, G+ has the Skype-thing, which is free.
Personally, I don't want people to see me. It freaks me out.
