I just watched the National Geographic episode on North Korea. It's on Netflix instant watch and I'd highly recommend it.
It's simply disgusting what is going on in North Korea. So, my question for this thread is what do you think of how the West has dealt with North Korea and do you think something else or more should be done?

Well, lets see maybe the worst crime with the least exposure of all time.
Being an extension of the Chinese and Russian army, they are merely slaves that have to dance to the puppeteer's moves--of course the hand is armed and the prisoners are controlled to benefit the master's bargaining table.
I have a heart for north Korea; I've experienced the same hand in Romania and I can tell you they are suffering.
A break of the arm will mean freedom for them and it also means a major triumph against the evil in the world. Anybody know how we can destroy communism?

We destroy tyranny by prayer to the God of justice.
God hears the cries of the poor and delivers them from their oppressors (Exodus 22:22-23)
God will destroy the leaders of the nations that oppress the poor (Psalm 82)
God will cause this to happen, if we would but pray.

We destroy tyranny by prayer to the God of justice. God hears the cries of the poor and delivers them from their oppressors (Exodus 22:22-23) God will destroy the leaders of the nations that oppress the poor (Psalm 82) God will cause this to happen, if we would but pray. Not to contradict this in any way, because I'm much agreed. But still I'm really asking what you or I or anyone would advise our government(s) to do policy-wise regarding North Korea? Also, people do pray that these things would happen all the time and it hasn't translated to liberation for North Korea yet in 50+ years. I have no doubt in the end that those suffering there will be vindicated, but it sounds like you're saying that it hasn't happen yet because a prayer quotient hasn't been filled.

I'm not talking about a "prayer quotient" exactly. I do think that if we believers focused on prayer instead of arms that changes would really happen, but that doesn't mean things shouldn't be done politically. I just don't have a good answer politically. I do know that what we can do is pray. That's not trying to side step the other discussion, though.

This is going to sound absurd but hear me out. The main threat in North Korea is their new nuclear capability. Currently our inteligence shows that their bombs are incredibly crude on not small enough to be payload on their missile system. The obvious choice would be to place nuclear arms in South Korea with modern US thermonuclear warhead on modern US missiles. These weapons could be deployed immediately by permanently parking missile subs off the coast of North Korea in international waters.
