What is your definition of what it means to "be an adult"? Does anybody feel like everybody else around you is more "grown up" than you are?

Hi Lady J (Janessa I presume? ), Do you mean you find yourself enjoying Word World and Sesame Street more than you think you ought to? ;D It's a good question. I would probably need to know more about what your question is about in order to give a decent opinion. I'm sure any answer is subject to it's beholder and the time/culture you're in. But a first crack at it: I guess, in my mind, the definition of an adult would be someone who has adult responsibilities and carries them out (like having to care and provide for others for example). How mature a person is or feels could lend to the quality and confidence of execution, but that's a secondary thing IMO. I know many adults that are more like children and many children that are more like adults. With everyone having individual personalities, it's very hard to categorize it would seem. Sometimes I feel like the little boy in my avatar.

Well, when I was a teenager some said I acted like I was an old man but now I think I'm balancing out quite nicely for 35.

Well, when I was a teenager some said I acted like I was an old man but now I think I'm balancing out quite nicely for 35. Well, there was a song written about Josh around that time called Mr. Serious...must have been on to something?? A lot of times I feel like the people around me that are the same age as me seem older than me, maybe more put together?? Somehow I assume them to be older and then I find out we're the same age. I'm not even sure how to put it into words, but I do feel something similar to your question. And Chris, my show is Word Girl - now that's a good one!

And if I reveal that I wrote the song then it becomes even clearer that I had something to prove.
Ah, teenage angst. I don't have it anymore, so I guess I am an adult!
