Thoughts on the drawbacks and/or benefits of denominations?

OK, help me add to or amend these lists of pros and cons:
Pros
1. Channelling of financial resources allows for larger projects and services
2. Streamlines the process of helping Christians find a place where they have general agreement on many things with the people they worship with (this is often a con though)
Cons
1. Tends to encourage fixation on secondary doctrinal distinctions
2. Often leads to an overly protective stance of preserving the tradition over what is best for the kingdom of God
3. Promotes unhealthy competition and divisiveness in the body of Christ
4. Requires burdensome bureaucracy contrary to the "family" spirit of the people of God.
