The new post modern apocalyptic film posits the idea that in the wrong hands, spiritual truth, misshapen and taken out of context for the purpose of consolidating power is one of the single greatest threats to the well being of people. I think one only needs to look at the History of Christianity specifically, and most other religions in general to see that there is more than a grain of truth to that observation. What do you guys think?

Saw the movie last night. I liked how it made a case for the doubled edged nature of scripture and it's simultaneous powers for good, when handled well, and evil, when distorted for human gain.
