So, my apparently genocidal cat Jack has another side to him.
I told myself if this happened one more time, I was going to post on it, and it did this morning, so here goes:
Our cat seems to know intuitively when someone is sick, but not only that, he seems keenly aware of which part of one's body is ailing. For instance, when I had pnuemonia, I sometimes had to fight him off from laying on my chest specifically. When I had the stomach flu last week, he was fixated on laying on my stomach. Normally he doesn't try to lay in my lap at all, preferring Rosemary if she's available (we call her mama cat).
Last night, Riley threw up 5 times with the stomach flu, and guess who was fixated on snuggling up to her? Yep. Jack apparently has the gift of healing.
Has anyone else encountered anything like this with their pets?

Gift of healing? This is a cat. He's actually waiting for you do die so he can eat you and spit your internal organs out on the back porch.

Well, I suppose you read about the Nursing Home Kitty? He goes and hangs around with people taking their last breaths at the nursing home? Supposedly, he zeroes in on those that are dying and has some amazing track record for always knowing who the lucky one is. Never heard about him laying on particular body parts, though. Also never heard of him laying claim to a spiritual gift. (The laying-on of paws?) All in all, after excercising a significant amount of spiritual discernment---uh---I'm with Marcus. That cat would probably sell you down the river for a warm bowl of catfood...

On a different note: All you cat friends check out Rossini's "duo des chats"! It's priceless!

I can just imagine the dreadful sinking feeling that must come over one of the elderly people when this cat wonders into their room and makes itself at home.
