So, I'm coming out of the closet and admitting I really like the Twilight movies. Haven't read the books and don't plan to, but I've really enjoyed both movies. I watched them with super-low expectations and have been pleasantly surprised. I love the Northwestiness of the films. It's cool to be able to recognize particular places in films. And the town of Forks is the gateway to several of my favorite backpacking destinations on the Olympic Peninusula, so that's a plus for me. There's even a scence filmed on one of my co-workers docks featuring a porcelain squirrel he owns. I like the quirkiness of the filming and soundtrack. I like the idea of repentant vampires. I like several of the actors. I think the whole abstinence theme is rather refreshing. I can even put up with the romance scenes. There. I said it. Let the chips fall where they may

I'll confess that I have read the books and seen the films. I am with you about seeing the NW in all its cinematic glory. I also like the abstinence take and the fear of losing one's soul by becoming a monster.
There did seem to be something almost intangible about the last film that seemed a little over-the-top dark for me. Maybe it's the kids that get get led to their death at the hands of the Voltari. Cuts a little too close to home.

I don't know anything about the films so you won't catch any stones from me... .......yet.

I only watched the first movie, and decided that it would not be worth my time to watch any others.
