How many of you guys are into photography? I always wanted to do photography, but it wasn't till I took a good manual camera with me to Eastern Europe in 1990 that I actually got into it. Then I spent 3 or 4 years in Mr. D's photography class at PC and I learned how to do all the B&W stuff. I ended up with my own dark room for a while, but during and after college in the mid to late 1990's I really didn't take that many photos because I was dirt poor, and shooting with film is expensive. At some point I pretty much stopped all together -- until I sold off all my darkroom and film equipment and bought my first DSLR, a Nikon D70. I now have a D200 and although I have not been taking as many photos as I used to, just due to homework issues, I still take about 10,000 photos every year. The learning curve was steep once I started learning about digital photography. And getting the instant feedback that the digital world gives you really makes it go fast. I learned a lot from Mr. D., but there was a lot I missed. Anyway, I thought I would share, and ask others to share their work as well: www.flickr.com/photos/bhcmbailey/I only have 200 images up there, maybe I'll buy an account to show all of them some time.

Only with the advent of digital cameras did it ever even occur to me that I could shoot a frameable photo. Since then, I have been much more into photography, but I have no formal (or really informal training). I guess I understand some of the basic principles. Anyway, there are a few shots I've taken that I think transcend the snapshot and approach art. Here's one: I'm curious to take a look at yours. Do you have an all-time favorite or two?

Nice! Favorite? No, but I do have a lot of favorites. Here is another set of albums. Some of them are very random: picasaweb.google.com/bhcmrovingsThe Flickr link is my artsy-fartsy/airplane stuff.

Hu. Interesting. Thanks!
The one of the canon was quite lucky. I had it set to continuous shooting (4 frames per second) and I held the button down -- one shot, nothing; two shots, nothing; third shot, nothing; fourth shot, BAM!; fifth shot, smoke.
That was out back behind the middle school last year.

Josh, you can't be the only one on here with a camera and an itch?!
