I cannot reccomend the film "The Invention of Lying" high enough. It is a wonderfully entertaining cerebral comedy.

What is the relationship of "man in the sky" to "invention of lying"?

Ahh, well the film deals with many interesting social issues. In the world that the characters live in, there is no such thing as lies. In fact they do not even have a word for it. They also have no religion. One of the central comedic themes is the idea that to have organized religion you need to be able to lie. In the movie the main character evolves the ability to lie. He lies to his mother who is dying in the hospital telling her that she will go to a paradise when she dies, have a mansion and that a man in the sky who controls everything will make sure she is soriounded by those she loves. People overhear this, and assume that they MUST KNOW. Because no one in history have ever said something that "wasn't." as a result he gives a speech explaining about heaven and hell. He just made it up. However, all of humanity believes him. This leads to numerious complex and amusing situations. It s a remarkably intelligent comedy during a drought on good films.
