As a side note, I was interested to find out that Bear Grylls is supposedly a pretty outspoken Christian. Did you guys know that?
I got that tidbit from that most reputable of all sources, Wikipedia.

My kids love watching it, and I'm entertained.

That's one of my all time favorite shows. I love watching it. I could watch a Man vs Wild marathon every weekend. I love how he says glacier (he pronounces it glassier) and disorientated. He pretty much rocks!!

Yes, he does rock! I love watching Man vs. Wild - he's much better than "ComplainerMan"....urgh, I mean "SurvivorMan". Have any of you watched SurvivorMan? He just sits in front of his camera complaining about the situation he's currently in. I just sit there and think, "wow, you're cool - how did you ever get your own television show?"

Yeah, Survivorman's got nothing on Bear Grylls. I don't like that all Survivorman does is sit in the same spot for 7 days. I like that Bear is always trying to find a way to get rescued. Plus, I love that he will just into quick sand or a crevasse to show you how to get out of it. And I now know how to make a floatation device out of my pants if I ever need to. One other thing I like better about Man vs Wild. Bear takes a knife and a water bottle. I've only seen one episode that he's used something else. That's the one that he used his parachute to jump into a crevasse. Otherwise it's just the knife and the water bottle. Survivorman packs a bunch of stuff with him. Oh yeah, I guess the British accent doesn't hurt either!!

Yeah, I'll take a British accent over a Canadian one any day. (No offense to any Canadians out there - but it's true!)

Did anyone else see the "Office" last night? They were poking a bit o' fun with a Survivorman/ Man vs. Wild theme. Pretty funny. Brian tipped us off to it. Before that, I'd only ever seen about 1/2 an episode of "the Office". Have to say I find it pretty hilarious so far. Anyone else enjoy it?

I watched it. It was pretty fetchin' funny. I about died laughing when he duct taped his pant legs back on. And he only made fun of Complain..er...Survivorman. There is not fun to be poked at Man vs Wild.
Have any of you ever watched Arrested Development? I've been checking those out from the library. That is a hilarious show too.

I totally cracked up at the duct tape part - it's a good show, but Josh and I just started watching...we just rented the 1st season. I haven't watched Arrested Development but I've heard good things from Marcus and Erin.

"The Office" rocks.
If you ever get a chance to watch the episodes "Benjamin Franklin" or especially "Dwight's Speech" those are classics.

Ummmm, Did Bear Grylls just squeeze the contents of a dead camel's stomach to get some water and then crawl inside the carcass! That's offal!

He must have learned it from Han Solo and Luke in beginning of "The empire strikes back"

I just heard this morning that Bear Grylls filmed a Man Vs. Wild here in Oregon just recently. It'll be on the air this Friday! They were mysterious as to the particular location in Oregon that will be featured. I'm very curious.

I just heard this morning that Bear Grylls filmed a Man Vs. Wild here in Oregon just recently. It'll be on the air this Friday! They were mysterious as to the particular location in Oregon that will be featured. I'm very curious. ...It's probably at an Oregon school.... In response to other MVW comments: 1. I like it but members of my family are card carrying Bear Fanatics and I've gotten a bit burnt out. (Although Paul is pretty ticked at him currently because he is doing those cereal commercials. He says he has lost credibility...I say maybe he's just jumped at the chance to eat real food.) 2. No one mentioned how prophetic his mother (doubtless!) was to name him "Bear." 3. I too saw the camel episode and also thought it was ripping off the classic TonTon scene. If I ever get that cold, it might be better to just die. 4. Rose: My family has dissed SurvivorMan many times, but I have never seen it. Wait till I tell them you call it "ComplainerMan!" Ha! They'll love it! Re: The Office: Drop Dead Hilarious!!! Paul was just saying yesterday that he can't believe they can keep churning out such funny dialogue---especially for Dwight. Josh and Rose, it most definitely worth watching all back episodes so you can get the FULL effect. The same for Arrested Development. It was a crime they took that off the air. One other show that our daughter got us watching is "Pushing Daisies"..that one, you've definitely got to watch back episodes to "get it." Very surreal, but there's something about it that really grows on you

2. No one mentioned how prophetic his mother (doubtless!) was to name him "Bear." A self fulfilling prophecy perhaps. The name obligates. I had never heard of Man vs Wild and just checked out a couple of scenes on YouTube. D I S G U S T I N G ! ! ! The crocodile hunter (Rest In Peace) meats MTV Jackass...

Mo, You probably just happened to catch a couple seconds of the "squeezing the water out of elephant dung" scene or something. Don't judge the show out of context. You'd really have to sit down and watch a whole episode to really appreciate it. Sigh, he knows not what he says....
