I'm dying to know what you think of this, Robin.

I think kids mimic what they see and that's what's going on here. The parents and church leaders should be more discerning and show proper respect for the gift of preaching. But this is the kind of off the wall stuff we see in Pentecostal churches. I don't blame the children. In fact I think it's kind of cute but still troubling that adults are taking this serious.

I used to pretend I was fighting Darth Vader with a light saber, but no one ever said I was a Jedi.

Uhhhhhhh, just in response to the video of the 4 yr old (I haven't seen the 12 yr old ones yet) my first reaction was "excuse me? what?!" LOL.
This little kid may hear God speaking to him and have a growing relationship with Him, but it appears he is mimicking what he's seen his daddy or uncle do. Most of what he blurted out didn't even make sense really. But he seems to have a really good heart and maybe one day he will preach as an adult but right now it appears most of it is a mimicking thing.....although some of it could be holy spirit inspired. The parents should give him a break if he feels obligated to do it, lol. I think if he really wanted to go up each week and do a little preaching, that's ok (as long as he wants to do it)....it kind of reminds me of how we let little kids go up and sing sometimes. Just kids liking to practice being up front.
I must say though that there is nothing wrong with the Pentecostals style of worship as long as their hearts are ok. It's just another 'culture'.

I just watched the video of the boy named Terry. He seems for real. I don't know him so I couldn't say for sure, but the Holy Spirit can move this way for sure and a 12 yr old could be drawn do this by God at an early age as he is.

what the congregation of any church shouldn't do though is view the preacher (kid or adult) as someone who has higher access to God than they do. They ain't higher or better. It appears some of these people think these little preachers have some higher access to God than others....cough.
The trailer said, "many believe he (the boy Terry) can heal a disease with one touch." Now that's silly. I doubt they believe the boy is healing them. They believe God is healing through him. The trailer seems pretty dramatic as TV shows like to be for ratings...sigh.
The third boy from Rio (from the little clip I see) who goes to jails to preach to inmates appears to be doing that from his heart and I again believe God can use young people.

I hate to say it but our culture loves celebrity more than anything else and at its root it looks more like a purposeful publicity stunt on the parts of the parents. While the children may be innocent i have many MANY doubts about the intentions of the parents. They stand to gain much from the celebrity brought by their famous children. The love of fame and fortune is the root of much evil. (Douglas paraphrased version DPV)

When is the final version of the DPV coming out, Douglas? I need a new translation to keep up the pressure on our NKJV ers.
