I gained a new appreciation for some songs that I already liked but didn't quite understand their context. I didn't know the "she" in "Author of the Story" was Terry's grandma- didn't know "Buffalo Hills" was about Andrew, etc...

I also thought of you, Chris, when he started talking about the song Bibleland and theme parks, etc... You were fresh off the experience- must have been like he was reading your Disney-indoctrinated minds ;D

Yeah, Disneyland was fun, but I'm not ready to make it my new religion yet.
I also liked how he tempered the mocking nature of the song with pointing out the founders' faithfulness in doing what he felt was honoring to God.

There's a recurring mockery-meets-recognition-of-the-good theme in many of Taylor's tunes (Evangeline, Small, Great Things, Medly of our Hit, etc...)

Great picture of you and Terry.
I totally dig Bibleland. Who wouldn't get into "three shows daily staring Debbie Boone"?

By the way, I don't know if you guys are familiar with pandora.com, but you can set up a Terry Taylor radio station there that will play his music along with Daniel Amos and other like music. In fact, you can type in any artist, song, or genre and it will build a radio station around it. Check it out, it's a pretty amazing website. www.pandora.com

What touched me most was Terry's ability to tell the story, whether is be about his dad's silly dance or about our Lord Jesus Christ, he has an amazing way of weaving it all together in a way that touches the soul. That is truly rare and a great gift. This is the second time that i have had the privilege of seeing terry in concert and i cant wait for the next one. Let me know if he is planning on coming to Costa Rica any time soon. Thanks Josh for setting this up.
Blessings, Douglas
