Very cool website that will blow your mind www.worldometers.info/Check it out and then post what you thought was the most interesting aspect. Just don't check it out if you're obsessive-compulsive. One of my surprises was that I thought the rate of deaths in automobile accidents would be higher.

The suicide ticker is a little disturbing. It's sad watching that number increase every few seconds.
I also wonder if the death ticker include abortions? Probably not.

One other thing I noticed is that we are spending 4x as much on Health care and education, over military spending.
Also we have more overweight people than undernourished, and fewer obese people than I would have thought.
Pretty cool website.

Unrelated, but an interesting factoid from a book I was reading Justus tonight: Number of snakebite fatalities in the US per year (as of 1992): 12 Number of snakebite fatalities in India per year (as of 1992): 10,000-20,000

I just visited the facebook page of a pastor in India (very cool connection) and low and behold he was praising God for saving them from a snake. Wow.
