Dear friends of Aletheia Christian Fellowship,
As you probably already know, the installation of stained glass windows in our basement church has run over budget, and it is too late to back out.
This calls for some creative problem solving, so I have listed some ideas to raise the additional money without dipping into our general fund.
Please let Josh or myself know which of these we should do:
Hold a bake sale, perhaps on a Saturday, to catch the Bridge City crowd
Sell advertising space on the back of the ACF sandwich board
Use Paypal to charge $.02 for each posting to the ACF message boards ( I call this one "Putting in my two cents"!) This would of course be retroactive to the beginning of the message boards, which unfortunately means that Josh owes $971.48 so far.
Sell raffle tickets with people guessing "how many angels can dance on the head of a pin?". Whoever gets it right wins the prize.
Sell tickets and host an "American Idol" style competition, with ordinary people singing "worship" songs. We could advertise by putting up signs saying "come to Alethia Christian Fellowship for Idol Worship!"
Install parking meters in the lot on Harrison Street
Since people will need coins to feed the meters, we can then set up booths of money changers and merchants inside the church
If the Saturday bake sale does not raise enough, we might have to switch to candy, fudge, or some other chocolate indulgence and advertise. To get more people off the street, we can put out signs saying "ACF: we sell indulgences!"
If you think that any of these are good ideas, please let me know. Or just check the date of this message.
Thanks for your indulgence,
Brian
PS any other ideas?
