Hi all, I thought this might be a good place to share your moments of gratitude this fall as we all focus on retraining our minds towards joyfulness!

Sarah, I really appreciated what you had to say on Sunday, and I think it has really stuck with me (stuck, in a good way!) For the past couple of years, my work load has been pretty heavy. This Fall, for whatever reason, it has suddenly lightened. My husband, daughter and son need a lot of support from me right now in school, and I feel I have the freedom to give it because the load lightened just enough to do so. I am grateful for God's timing. I am grateful that he can see way ahead of me and know what is coming down the road. I'm also grateful that thanks to him I never need to forsake the needs of my family for work. He is very good at taking care of me.

I'm grateful that I've had parents (and that Rose and I are parents) that can say "I love you" and "I'm sorry".

Yeah, some subbing. It's really slow though, so I only sub on average about 1-2 times a week.
And I nanny at night and on the weekends, etc.

I'd like to keep this thread alive and fresh.
What are you all currently thankful for?
This morning it's snuggling with the kids, seeing the wonder on Justus' face at learning and discovering new things, looking forward to going to see the Hobbit play with an old friend and our sons, oh, and the glorious spring.

Would that be thanks for the grocery store, spring, summer, or the wonderful new season of life that your involvement with Aletheia brought you??

Right now, I think I am grateful for God's consistency. All things considered, it's been a pretty horrifying week. Life-changing career moves at work...financial stuff....car stuff.....more financial stuff.....personal stuff....the list goes on. Nevertheless, everytime I come to God, I am in my oasis. I sit at the little table that is currently doubling as a my desk, open the window to the sun, or the clouds, make a cup of tea and it's just me and God. He doesn't change his mind about "liking" me or feeding me or just being with me. When I show up, he is always there, waiting to minister to me. I have never experienced anything in life like that sweetness, and it blesses me more than I can say.

I remember when I lost my job and we had to restart our life. For me a certain perspective was the most helpful:
The time here on Earth is the flicker of a candle to the rest of our existence in God's grace. What will we look back on in two thousand years' time; and what will we laugh about?
