6 "He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life."
I like that idea that while the law of Moses is still very valid, it is no longer the emphasis of our faith. And that while we may not be experts in the law (although I think knowledge of the law is important), we can still be effective ministers of Jesus.
17 "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."
How true!!!!

I kinda noticed a parallel here between the first part, where Paul says the believers are 'letters from Christ' and later in the chapter where believers reflect the Lord's glory. He is writing us as a story- a story that reflects him.
BTW, this whole veil imagery is powerful and energizing! Beautiful.

Josh, I totally agree with you about the veil imagery. It gives me an adrenaline rush every time I read it! Something about reflecting God's glory that is awe inspiring. What a privilege! I like how it moves so well into the next chapter too and the whole part about being earthen vessels. It is incredible when you really think about it, that God choose us to display his glory. What an unlikely choice. I sometimes wish I could capture and hold onto the reality of the value he places on us, on me.
