I know it always seems to happen, but I am swamped in school right now. However, one of the books I was assigned to read for my class on the book of Acts is amazing, and I wanted to take a moment to share it here since it covers everything we have talked about, from the honor/shame culture, to nudity, and even gender roles which sheds light on homosexual marriage. "The Social World of Luke-Acts" www.amazon.com/Social-World-Luke-Acts-Models-Interpretation/dp/1565635124?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0This book is going on my list of top books I have ever studied and will be one of the top of my recommendation list. In my opinion, this book has been one of the most eye opening additions to my biblical studies ever.

On a side note, if anybody gets the book, my classes end this week, and I'd be interested in perhaps rereading the book in a discussion setting and talking about such things as the different setting of the church in our society vs. its original society, and if our church must reflect the original church even though the social settings are dramatically different.
Or should we attempt to make our setting match and reshape society so then the church can match the original.
Or are we ok with having an entirely new form of church from the original because we exist in an entirely unique society from the original.
There is a ton of material and contemplation to be had over this book if anyone is interested, from individual moral obligation vs. moral enforcement by society to dress codes and modesty.
Anyway, back to schoolwork.
