Some friends recently released a film about the authenticity of Christ's testimony. The film contains edited interviews with several NT scholars: Steve Gregg, Richard Bauckham, Craig Blomberg, Gary Habermas, Dan Wallace, Craig Keener, Michael Brown, Ben Witherington III, and a few others. If anyone is interested, you can watch it online (for no charge) at: link
I'm sure that they would appreciate any feedback that anyone would care to offer. -sd

By the way, I got a copy of this DVD for Aletheia. Good stuff! Covers the basics well with the leaders in the field and adds some nice new twists.
Who are your friends that produced it?

As I enjoyed the film, glad that you did also. The fellows who put the film together are actually brothers (in the flesh-and-blood sense). Their names are Elliott and Ethan Nesch. Elliott and his family live in Roseburg (Ethan is in Ft. Collins, CO where I originally met both of them several years ago). I expect that Elliott will appreciate learning that you gave a thumbs up to the film, I'll plan to pass on the word.
In the past I think that Elliott visited Portland infrequently. Maybe I'll suggest that he visit one of your church gatherings if he has any plans to be in Portland on a weekend..?

A couple things I thought were novel (at least to me) and enlightening about the documentary:
* Reasons why the "telephone game" or the evolution of European fairy tales shouldn't be compared to the development of oral tradition in the Bible * The recent finding of an Arabic translation of Josephus that confirms the recent attempts by Christian scholars to isolate what Josephus actually said about Jesus from later Christian gloss. This is very cool!
