I'm curious to hear what you have to say about this part:
15 All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. 16 Only let us live up to what we have already attained.
I've always been a bit mystified by Paul's precise meaning here. Is he saying that some people think they've already reached perfection, but God is going to help them see that's not the case yet? In other words, immature people think they've gone a lot farther in the spiritual race than they really have?
Or is he saying it's the mature thing to consider everything rubbish compared to Christ? And that we each have a measure of faith/ committment that grows as we stretch it?
Or what?
