I was not thinking about Paul as a zealot idealogue. He was one of the unique apostles but you guys know that. I was thinking about how today the far right and the far left would do anything to get their way, even lying. I like people like Lou Dobbs and Bill Oreilly who give both sides of the issue and allow me to come to my own conclusions.

I think it is largely the law of averages. In our country the majority of comedians are liberal (Except for Glenn Beck as near as I can tell) and the majority of born again Christian political figures are conservative. People tend to mock people they do not agree with.

I consider Rush Limbaugh a comedian.... If so, then he's the most influential comedian of all times. I think he has something like 40 million listeners a week. I also would not consider Beck a comedian either. Such labels are only intended to marginalize those who you disagree with.

It's just that Rush is so outrageously one-sided and pompous that I have to laugh when I listen to him.

If I found someone to be as you described, I'm certain I would not waste my time listening to them.
By the way, what have you heard from him that is so outrageous? I don't consider conservative positions to be so outrageous, and it seems that his show is centered around discussing social and political issues from a conservative position in an entertaining way.

I rarely listen to him, but sometimes I do just to see what he's up to. I don't disagree with everything he stands for, but his personality is grating and I don't think he's very fair or balanced. He frequently resorts to stereotyping and oversimplifying his opponents for one thing. Tell you what, the next time I listen to him I'll take notes and report back. But for now I think I'm going to take a hiatus from political discussion. It's just not worth what friction it causes. I'd much rather argue over theology

Did you guys hear the guy from Dallas arguing with Steve Gregg about the author of the Book of John? Man, he was out of control and even starting yelling. This one put political arguments in the back seat for the day. This was taped 11/4/09.

I'd much rather argue over theology For my part I will say that even though their may be friction at times, I love you all the same. Brothers are allowed to disagree, even adamantly at times, while not damaging their relationship. Trust me, I have 5 siblings. As for Rush, no he is not balanced at all. But he says so himself. So we know up front that we are not getting both sides of any issue, but rather only his perspective on the issues. If we want fair and balanced we can watch Fox News. Yes Ben, I heard Steve's show and I thought that Steve handled him very well. I would have knocked the dust off my feet much earlier. The conversation has continued on Steve's forum. Jim (the caller) seemed very uncharitable and when Steve called him on it, he became even more agitated. The sad thing is, it's over a non-issue.

How come I can't play Steve Gregg radio shows off his website? Am I missing something. I click "high speed" (and "low speed") but nothing happens.

Limbaugh is one of the greatest asses of our time. He speaks utter jibberish, if what he said wasn't so laughable I would cry.

Yesterday I heard him criticize liberals for name calling and then he turned around and called them names

I am a believer in near absolute free speech, as a result I will defend Rush Limbaugh's right to his psychotic rantings just as I would defend a liberals rights to his, yet if there was such a crime as "treasonous speech" I think Limbaugh would be the first one at the gallows.

I would like to see you defend this statement. What has Rush ever said that could construed as treasonous?
I have not yet heard any talk show host spew such vial hatred as Kieth Oberman did a couple nights ago when speaking of Sen. Brown. Watch this.
Warning - Graphic Language

Lame... and I don't even know anything about Scott Brown to see that tirade as useless.
