Did any of you catch 60 minutes last night about Christians in Iraq?
They interviewed an Anglican Iraqi minister and his "secret" congregation. The members of the church told some horrific stories about suffering at the hands of fanatical Islamisists. One family had both their 4 year old and 15 year olds shot to death for operating a liquor store. Another Catholic young man told how he and his family started going to Mass in shifts in order to prevent their entire family from dying all at once in a bombing.
They read death threat letters from Muslim militant groups that said if the Christians remained in certain towns there entire families would be killed.
The minister said that things have been worse for them [at least in their region] since Saddam because Saddam kept mob violence in check, but in the vacuum of power militant Muslims have been taking the law into their own hands.
The minister, who is suffering now from MS, was pretty much the last Christian minister in his area. His congregation is on the verge of collapse. Just another reminder to pray for our brothers and sisters around the world suffering horrible persecution.
