I don't have anything to say about Romans 6. I think it speaks for itself.
I am so grateful for Paul's words in verses 7: 14-19. It's good to know that someone like Paul also struggled with a sinful nature and doing what he shouldn't and not doing what he should. I think sometimes it seems like the apostles were so close to Jesus that I forget they too had human struggles. But I do feel like verse 20 is sort of a cop out. "Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it." I understand the concept behind it and I understand that because we are sinful we do what we do not want to, but it seems like it is avoiding taking accountability for one's actions. What do you all think??

I've thought that before too. But I think Paul is trying to help us start thinking of ourselves primarily as the person who is the new creation- as if it would be a good thing for us to start distancing ourselves from our old man- even in the way we refer to him.
