Sorry I guess I don't understand if we could read the story of one of Job's kids.

My point is that when we just think of this from the perspective of jobs story it's tempting to think of all the other players who suffer (kids and servants) as objects who serve only as unwilling and innocent bystanders. This makes god look like he's willing to waste lives to prove a point. But what if each of those kids and servants have their own job-like story going on simultaneously- their own tests and opportunities for rugged faith and meeting god in their storm? I think we should believe that this is everyone's story and that no one is simply a stock character for someone else's story. Actually, we are minor characters in each others stories but we still all have our own story.

To me it looks like God is willing to waste lives to prove a point. But that is from my point of view. I'm sure God is looking at it from His point and I feel guilty I guess for questioning Him. I guess it comes down to how I view His character. I never thought I would look at God in a different way since I've been walking with him. I looked at Him as a perfect loving God and now I'm not sure.
I keep telling myself that the flaw is with me and not God and that probably is true. I'm going through the Book of Job with Steve's online mp3s so maybe that will help.

So, Ben, sounds like the eternal destiny of the kids/servants is a big part of this question for you. ?
