I had a strange dream the other night, and although I don't think this particular dream had any significance (it was full of non-sequiturs), it caused me to think about the spiritual signifacance of dreams*.
The Bible, mostly in the Old Testament, recounts several stories of God speaking to people through dreams, whether it was foretelling or forthtelling. There is an account in Matthew of an angel appearing to Joseph to assure him of Mary's virginity. See:

My family always placed a lot of value in dreams. My grandmother would tell of prophetic dreams she had throughout her life. She had full faith they were from God. I have an aunt who has dreamed about unborn children in the family (while cousins were pregnant) and she has predicted the gender correctly every time. She even predicted my sister would have twins after a dream about twins. My dad would share dreams with us he thought were significant...there was nothing prophetic about them, but rather they were encouragements. He has faith they are from God.
I have had dreams that have moved me in one way or another. One, in particular, I am not even sure was a dream, but perhaps an out-of-body or other spirtual experience. I don't know what to think of it, though.
What is everyone's experience with dreams? What do you think about dreams? Do they hold a spiritual significance? All of them? So many questions...
*To be clear, I am referring to the sensual experiences of people, places, things, passing of time, and events while sleeping.
