So true. And I think the same could be said of Achtung Baby and even Zooropa.
Another thing y'all need to realize is that U2 is famous for putting on a grand-scale concert (I believe some of the most lavish in history). I've never had the experience first hand, but I'll definitely report back after June but everyone I know who's been to a U2 concert says it was extraordinary.

It's probably overexposure. That can kill anything. I was big on U2 through the early 90s and then I burnt out. I respect Bono's humanitarian work, but when he tells our politicians how they should spend money on his projects...
I love Joshua Tree, I love much of War, Achtung and Rattle and Hum, and there are some other good tunes in there, but I have ignored them over the past decade because I am tired of them. Then again I've always liked less popular bands better (Daniel Amos anyone?)
