Notes: Select books which you've read and thought were a bit more than ordinarily good. The list is not exhaustive, but covers his main works. SORRY THAT THIS POLL DOESN'T INCLUDE THE GREAT DIVORCE, WHICH I INADVERTANTLY OMITTED Discuss your thoughts on any of these books as replies to this thread! Nate's response to the original poll: I can't believe I forgot the Screwtape Letters! Here's the new poll!

I voted for Pilgrim's Regress (Also Cameron's favorite), and the first two books of the space trilogy (Out of the Silent Planet, and Perelandra). That Hideous Strength, left me scratching my head. There was a great build-up to what I was expecting to be a great ending and then, disappointment. Oh well, I still recommend reading all the in the trilogy.

Totally agreed on That Hideous Strength. The first half is awesome, the second half, well, it's interesting.
BTW, did you know that the Dark Tower is supposed to be the incomplete copy of a fourth Space Trilogy book. I'm reading it right now and it's good. But I know I'm going to be angry when it cuts off midstream.

Not Lewis. Most likely written by Walter Hooper. Read Kathryn Lindskoog's CS Lewis Hoax

Yep. That's why I said supposed. However, the jury is still out for me, although I also respect Lindskoog.

BTW, have you seen Lindskoog's book of commentary on the Pilgrim's Regress, called "Finding the Landlord"? It's awesome!

I loved Til We Have Faces - but it's been about 8 years since I read it (read it while in Italy . I started it again a year ago or so but never got very far...I need to pick up where I left off.

Narnia, Mere Christianity, and the Screw Tape letters. My favorite thus far is the Screw Tape Letters.

saw the theatrical version of the Screwtape Letters with Max McLean at the Schnitzer tonight. Excellent!
Supposedly there will be a theatrical version of the Great Divorce next.

I would certainly have voted for The Great Divorce, my favorite C.S. Lewis. But Dawn Treader is wonderful and Faces and Paralandra as well. I've read them all, but only skimmed The Dark Tower.

I am surprised that you ommitted Mere Christianity and The Great Divorce. I haven't yet read Abolition of Man or Miracles, but I have also heard they are good.
