I am not getting after any great secret meaning, just that what was accepted as Biblical treatment of women less than a century ago is now considered revolting both by the state and the church. As a result I submit to you, that we are like mosquitos in amber frozen in time, and that the role of women in the Church will continue to evolve.

James 4:11b-12a:
"When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. 12There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge..?"
be a doer (not only a hearer) of the Torah. but dont judge it, because you are nobody to judge it- there is only One Righteous Judge. But you are a judge who not only is partial and bias, but you do not even have a very tight grasp on what the Law actually says!
Shalom- john

Killing like Christ. If Christ was the angel of Death used against the Egyptians it is clear that he killed with compassion and did not inflict suffering upon his victims. findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1282/is_n17_v47/ai_17374449/ I want you to take a look at this article. It talks about several accidental deaths by nitrogen smothering. Here is the key, the people who died were all in a position to get out of the area easily if they felt distress, they did not feel distress because our breath reflex is caused by too much C02 and NOT by having NOT ENOUGH OXYGEN. Thus emersing the condemned in a pure nitrogen environment would allow them to exhale CO2 and die painlessly by passing out quickly and then dying by simply not having oxygen reach the brain. It has the advantages of not causing any bodily trauma or discoloration and not envolving medical professionals except in the actual pronouncing of Death. I.E. Doctors and nurses would NOT be the killers as is the situation with modern lethal injection which many cases have proven to be extremely drawn out and painful. I posted this in parody a while back, but upon further reflection I feel that IF WE MUST KILL AS A SOCIETY, THEN LET US AT LEAST DO IT IN THE MOST HUMANE WAY POSSIBLE. What say my Christian brethren to that?

Yes, as humane as reasonably possible I guess.
But, remember, I was mainly just defending the idea that the death penalty is not an inherently morally culpable act. I wasn't saying that the death penalty is the best, wisest, or most New Covenant action to take.

I believe with every fiber of my being that "life in prison" was not economically possible in Biblical times. However, given our current situation now, I believe it to bet he best way of dealing with pathological offenders and murderers and rapists.

maybe. but the defense was about whether it should be allowed as readers of the Nazarean Codicil- and we concluded that it is technically allowed.
but yes, i agree with your politics on the issue, except maybe life in prison. that really is not the best decision either.talk to my dad and step mom about that

well amen to that. but really, you should try to slow down with the enmity towards Torah... this is what the flesh does, the torah of sin and death working in you. (romans 8) when your flesh works enmity against Torah, you naturally break it, so beware.
